As Director of International Programs in the Office of the Dean of Faculty, Dr. Alberto del Río Malo leads the college’s overseas and domestic study and exchange programs in thirty-six countries for enrolled ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó students. He is also in charge of the Language Scholar Program, which brings eight scholars to ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó through exchange relationships with partner universities and program affiliations worldwide.

Alberto has extensive experience of over two decades in working and teaching in the international higher education and intercultural exchange fields. He has served as Resident Director and Academic Director at the Council on International Educational Exchanges (CIEE) in Barcelona, Spain, where he designed and implemented several study abroad programs (long/short/summer terms, mixed and direct enrollment, internships, and faculty-led programs) for students from 200+ US higher education institutions. He is a member of the Advisory Board and former President of APUNE/AAPS (Association of American Programs in Spain) and of the Academic Advisory Board of CUPA-Paris (The Center for University Programs Abroad).

Alberto holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literature, a Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, and a Licenciatura in Hispanic Philology from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). He has been visiting professor of Spanish Language and Literature at Knox College (Galesburg, IL) and professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the Universitat de Barcelona.
