ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó will assign you an adviser based on your academic interests and will set up an advising appointment on your behalf for Thursday, January 23 during Orientation. During your first advising appointment, your adviser will discuss your academic plans and your course choices for Spring 2025.

Below is a checklist of things you can do to prepare for your advising meeting.
After being admitted
- Peruse the for a comprehensive overview of the college's academic programs, course offerings, and core requirements.
- Review the to see the time and day classes are offered. You can use filters to select courses by subject, to see which courses meet group requirements, and courses with no prerequisites. Courses without prerequisites are available to first-year students.
- If you’ve taken AP or IB classes, you may find the first-year student credit guide helpful in determining how these credits may apply to your degree requirements.
Just before Orientation
- Complete this schedule planner before your advising appointment.
- Review the to explore major and minor requirements.
- Write a list of questions for your adviser about courses, requirements, etc.
Keep in mind that some majors (such as physics) require you to get started in that department right away in order to graduate on time. As you plan your schedule, be sure to select classes (and labs, conferences, etc.) that don't conflict with each other.
