Robert A. Keyes ’60

Robert A. Keyes ’60, July 24, 2006, in Conklin, New York. Bob attended ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó for two years, and earned a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Oregon. He was a physicist in the defense industry for 40 years. Following the OPEC oil embargo of 1973, he designed and built a fuel-efficient high-performance three-wheeled vehicle dubbed the TriVette. The TriVette's jaw-dropping acceleration (0-60 in three seconds) and top speed of 200 m.p.h. received considerable interest from the California Highway Patrol, which was looking for high-speed pursuit vehicle that they could use "to quickly run down the kids in their hot Camaros and Mustangs.” Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Diana, a son and daughter, three grandchildren, his mother, and two brothers.
