Patricia Francis McGuire ’49

Patricia Francis McGuire ’49, November 20, 2009, in Portland, from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Patricia attended ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó for three years before leaving to marry Armand B. Scarci in 1949; they had five children, and later divorced. Patricia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed travel to Europe, China, and Egypt. For a number of years, she assisted with archeological digs in Eastern Oregon, through the Bureau of Land Management, and was on the board of directors for the Northwest Museum of Natural History. At the age of 70, she completed a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Portland State University. She also did real estate work, read extensively, and wrote four novels. Survivors include three daughters, one son, and three grandchildren. Her cousins, Hollister M. Stolte ’32 and Nancy Stolte Rosenfeld ’42, also attended ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó.
