Janette Louise Cobb Schneider ’41

Janette Louise Cobb Schneider ’41, April 19, 2009, in Portland. Following receipt of a BA from ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó in general literature, Janette accepted a position as assistant garden editor for the Oregon Journal. “This was a wonderful experience, because I worked with Dean Collins, a most creative and literate man.” She later held a secretarial position for the assistant to the publisher at the Journal, and, still later, was a legal secretary for her husband, attorney Alexander Schneider, whom she married in 1950. Janette volunteered as a Camp Fire leader and board member, and was a member of the Contemporary Crafts Association, the Japanese Garden Society, the Portland Ice Skating Club, and the First Unitarian Church. Survivors include her daughter. Her sister, Marcella A. Cobb ’43, and nephew, Jeffrey L. Cobb ’80, also graduated from ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó.
