Thomas A. Norton ’37

Thomas Allen Norton ’37, April 12, 2003, in Muir Beach, California. Thomas attended ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó, but did not graduate, before volunteering to fight fascism in Spain with the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in the ’30s. During World War II, he worked in the Sausalito, California, shipyards, and was a warehouseman in San Francisco for 30 years. Thomas was an active member of the ILWU, serving as steward and delegate. He was a man of deep convictions, who believed in social justice and human rights. He was also read extensively and was a poet. Survivors include four children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife, and one son, predeceased him.
