Colin C. McLennan AMP ’44

Colin McLennan AMP ’44, July 23, 1999, in Edmonds, Washington. Mac attended ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó as part of the Premeteorology program and also attended the University of Washington. He was a certified public accountant with a business in Kirkland, Washington, but held many other jobs and offices during his life. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and later served in the Military Sea Transport Service. His seafaring experience resulted in jobs as deck officer for United fruit Company and skipper on Washington State Ferries, and he also studied architecture and worked as an architect. He was a longtime activist in unions, was a member of the ACLU, and was an energetic protestor of the Vietnam War. He was proud of his efforts against the U.S. Army’s racist practices while he was in uniform, and of his work to deny liquor licenses to exclusionary clubs in Washington while serving as director of the Snohomish County Human Relations Coalition Against Discrimination. He served as director of the Washington State Coalition Against Discrimination in 1969. Survivors include his wife of 52 years and three children.
