Jerome A. Vines ’40

Jerome A. Vines ’40, April 29, 1997, in Phoenix, Arizona. After completing a BA in biology at ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó, Jerome attended graduate school at the University of California from 1940 to 1941 and then entered the U.S. Navy, serving as pharmacist mate first class during World War II. He married Hermene Taylor in 1945, and they had one child. From 1946 to 1960, he worked for H.H. Vines Jewelers in Portland. In 1961, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and took a position with the Arizona Department of Economic Security as a management analyst, where he remained until his retirement in 1980. He was an avid golfer in retirement. Survivors include his wife and daughter.
