Herman J. Weinreb ’72

Herman J. Weinreb ’72 died suddenly on April 14, 2000, in New York City. He was a clinical associate professor of neurology at the New York University School of Medicine. After graduating from ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó, he did graduate work in psychology at the University of Chicago and studied medicine at Rutgers University. He received his MD from the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine, New Jersey, in 1980, specializing in neurology. Prior to joining the faculty at New York University, he was chief of neurology services of the Manhattan Veterans Administration Medical Center, where he was credited with fostering linkages between the psychiatry and neurology departments. He joined the staff of New York University School of Medicine in 1994, and in 1998 was appointed chief of the division of neuroscience at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Orthopedic Institute. He was known as an engaging teacher and a devoted physician, and for his generosity and humor. He is survived by his wife.
