Moodle announcements

By default, every Moodle course page has an , which provides an easy way to communicate with students. Messages added in the Announcements forum are automatically sent to enrolled students via email, and past announcements are always accessible to students in the forum. We suggest that you tell students if you plan to communicate with them via the Announcements forum so that they know to look out for emails from Moodle.

Announcements should only be sent after a course has been made visible to students. If you add an announcement before the course is open to students, they will not receive an email.

If you hear from students that they are not receiving emails via the Announcements forums, please contact us at moodle@reed.edu so that we can investigate.
