Description
The Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship grants future public policy leaders access to the Junior Summer Institute (JSI), a fully funded and rigorous graduate school preparation program, and lifetime participation in PPIA's Alumni Network and annual Public Service Expo. The summer institute program is composed of six-week summer programs hosted at some of the top graduate policy schools in the nation.

PPIA Fellowship Benefits
Summer benefits:
- Summer stipend to facilitate full participation in the JSI program.
- Fully-funded summer coursework at one of their prestigious university partner campuses.
- Free books and course materials for the JSI program.
- University housing during the JSI program.
- Career guidance and coaching during the JSI program.
Alumni benefits include:
- Guaranteed application fee waivers when applying to programs in their Graduate School Consortium.
- At minimum, a one-time fellowship of $5,000 from a Consortium member school upon acceptance. However, many fellows receive fellowships well above this amount.*
- Lifetime participation in their annual Public Service Expo, a conference gathering employers and graduate schools to interface with PPIA program participants.
*JSI alumni status only guarantees minimum financial assistance at a Consortium member school, not admission.
Eligibility
- Students studying at a college or university in the United States are encouraged to apply (including international and undocumented students).
- Applicants must be juniors at the time of application. See eligibility on PPIA website for specifics.
- Must not have attained a Bachelor’s Degree prior to start of Junior Summer Institute.
- Must be committed to completing a Master’s Degree in public and/or international affairs at one of the PPIA Consortium graduate schools.
- Must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a professional career associated with public service such as government, nonprofits, humanitarian and international organizations and other related programs.
- Must be interested in contributing to the diversity of perspectives present in the PPIA Fellowship Program.
- Economic need is given consideration during the review of applications.
- All academic majors are welcome to apply.
